Bats

Bats prefer to crawl away in all kinds of cracks or crevices. If crevices are already present between the gable planks in some places, common dwarf bats will already be able to use these openings to hide behind the cladding without any specific intervention.

If the planks are 2 to 2.5 centimetres away from the eaves, the possibility also arises for late bats to crawl away behind the planks via this opening.
