Charging point test setup

At the Kamp C site, we are investigating how we can make smart use of self-generated solar energy to charge electric cars.

Te bezichtigen in KAMP C - 't Centrum

What you see here is a test setup at the Kamp C site, where electric cars are charged directly using solar energy generated on the building’s own roof.

't Centrum has a large number of solar panels. On sunny days, these generate more electricity than the building consumes.

Self-generated solar energy is the cheapest energy available.

Instead of feeding that surplus into the grid, we are exploring how we can use it locally and intelligently.

This charging point is the next step in that bigger picture: how can we better align our production and consumption so that we make the most of our energy?

Last year, we consumed 40.8% of the energy we generated ourselves — even before the charging point was put into use.

We are now investigating how much we can increase that proportion thanks to the charging point.

This charging point is available exclusively to residents of this building.
