Hybrid learning environment: Construction
Within 10 years, we will build our buildings in a very different way. We at Kamp C, are thinking of future-oriented building methods such as circular, modular and bio-based construction. This goes far beyond traditional bricklaying and stone stacking.
Our Circular Construction Kit is a real-life simulation and construction kit to get first-grade secondary school students excited about circular and bio-based construction. The simulation consists of two physical spaces at Kamp C (a prefab lab and a site zone), a digital building kit and a circular building kit with bio-based materials.
How does the construction kit work?
Once you have registered for this free project, we will provide you with all the necessary information. Just think of a fully elaborated teaching package to prepare everything optimally in class, a portfolio for your pupils and a digital game environment, where pupils can get to know all construction profiles.
Your students learn about the entire circular bio-based construction sector beforehand, they create a digital design at school (or a design on paper, if they are more comfortable with that), after which they effectively come to Kamp C to realise their project.
Knowing that tomorrow's construction sector has a lot to offer, we want to help students make a conscious study choice for construction thanks to this construction kit.
Digital learning platform
In addition to hands-on experience, our platform provides access to a range of digital learning resources and a ready-made curriculum.
Physical construction site
Students work on a simulated construction site at Kamp C, gaining hands-on experience with bio-based building materials.
Interactive lessons
The curriculum allows students to turn theoretical knowledge into practical skills. They create digital building plans, discover bio-based materials and play an online game to explore the many building profiles in the construction industry.
Why should you participate?
Despite the controlled environment, we still want to give young people the feeling that they are working on a real construction project. To this end, we developed our own construction system with a modular assembly system. We make maximum use of recycled wood and a minimum of different components.
The hybrid learning environment helps pupils to make a conscious choice about a possible future in the construction sector. Moreover, as a teacher, you are provided with useful tools and materials to make your lessons even more engaging and effective. Our approach perfectly matches the different learning styles and interests of your students and makes the learning experience both interactive and meaningful.

VITOpolis' brand new interactive pop-up expo
During September and October, there will be a lot more to experience at Kamp C, as VITOpolis will descend on Kamp C. This interactive expo on sustainability will then be located at the centre for sustainability and innovation in construction. The perfect combination!
VITOpolis is a temporary experience centre entirely dedicated to sustainable technology. Through fun interactive modules, you will be introduced to sustainable solutions in the fields of economy, housing, waste and even fashion.
All secondary school classes are welcome, with a maximum of 24 pupils per visit. Such a visit takes about an hour and a half. The class is divided into groups and each group plays out a theme module. A VITO staff member is present to provide additional information on certain themes and to steer everything in the right direction. We do rely on the teacher for practical guidance.
Fascinated by what you have discovered in VITOpolis? At Kamp C you will find 'the real stuff', such as a circular office building, a 3D printed house and so much more. So ideal to combine your visit to our hybrid learning environment with!
And that's not àll...
...As VITO's water experience container will also find its place on the Camp C sites during September and October. VITO's travelling, interactive experience container helps business parks to make profits from water together. Four virtual characters take you through a real-life listening story. The interactive set-ups give a clear picture of smart interventions by which business sites can become water sustainable. With these tangible actions, we want to inspire and motivate initiators to work together on other business sites as well.
