Build. Create. Innovate.
This project aims to sensitise (Kempen) companies active in the construction sector about the need for sustainable innovation and to support them in strengthening or maintaining their competitive position within a rapidly changing and increasingly international economic climate. Through cross-sector collaboration with creative experts, we stimulate new forms of entrepreneurship or intrapreneurship.
Creative expertise boosts businesses in construction and helps them excel, stand out from others and be and stay competitive in a globalising context. Because entrepreneurs from the creative sector are not intertwined with the construction sector, they are in a unique position to challenge the status quo.
With this project, the partners aim to:
- Create awareness around the added value of new business forms, including co-creation and cross-sector collaboration
- Strengthen regional clustering and activate the ecosystem
- Generate a long-term impact by stimulating concrete implementation of innovation and getting it started
The first track of Build. Create. Innovate. in which construction professionals engage with the creative sector started on 4 February 2021 with an online inspiration session that you can watch here. In a matchmaking round, all interested construction companies and creative agencies were paired up and went through a process with both individual and plenary co-creation sessions.
On 3/12, an inspiration session at Kamp C was organised as a kick-off for the 2nd trajectory. Niki Cauberg of WTCB explained how digitalisation and industrialisation are gaining importance in construction and how construction companies can prepare for this. In addition, the participants of the first trajectory came to explain their experiences and insights together with the creative entrepreneurs who guided them individually.
This project receives support from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in the amount of 107,489 euros. In addition, Camp C receives 23,535 euros in co-financing from the province of Antwerp.
The Build. Create. Innovate. project will run from 1 October 2020 to 30 September 2022.
This action contributes to the provincial climate goals of the province of Antwerp bundled in Plan Today www.planvandaag.be.
