Are you also working on the energy optimisation of your buildings? If so, be sure to opt for circular solutions. This way, you can avoid additional renovations in the future and you can be sure that your investments will pay off in the long term: both ecologically and economically.

Besides reducing CO2 emissions and raw material consumption, circular construction also reduces the long-term cost of your buildings and stimulates the local economy.

To help you with this, Kamp C offers the CircuS route, an advisory programme on circular construction.

You can register via this page from 25 June to 27 September 2024.

For whom?

Committed local authorities from the province of Antwerp with an upcoming (re)construction project, where they want to fully engage in circular design and construction principles. The scale of the project does not matter.

What can you expect?

The CircuS process in a nutshell

  • During five sessions, we look together, step by step, at how to make your (re)construction project a circular and strategic success.
  • You do this together with four other municipalities. This way, you can learn from each other and help each other along the way.
  • The programme is completely free of charge.
  • The sessions are spread over five full days, and provisionally take place on the site of Kamp C (Westerlo). In consultation with the five selected municipalities, the location may still be adjusted for some sessions.

The five sessions in a row

During five sessions, we will look together, step by step, at how to turn your project into a circular and strategic success. The key steps for a circular and strategic approach to your project will be covered. The experts at Kamp C will guide you through each step.

What do the sessions specifically entail?

SESSION 1 | GETTING STARTED WITH YOUR PROJECT | Tuesday 28 January 2025

Analysis of your project with a view to circular (re)construction. What are the needs, challenges and opportunities to make your project circularly sustainable. We start by determining your ambitions.

SESSION 2 | GLUREN BY THE BUREN | Tuesday 11 February 2025

From ambitions to more concrete requirements and measures. We delve deeper into circular design principles, measures and good examples as input for further refining your project ambitions.

SESSION 3 | INPUT TO YOUR PROJECT | Tuesday 25 February 2025

Optimise your project through peer and expert intervision. Your project idea scrutinised by your fellow municipalities and experts.

SESSION 4 | COSTS & BENEFITS | Tuesday 11 March 2025

Compare the (environmental) costs and (environmental) benefits of different circular solutions (versus traditional building methods). Become a true ambassador of circular construction, both inside and outside your organisation.

SESSION 5 | FIND EXTRA MONEY | Tuesday 25 March 2025

Info on funding opportunities for your project. Grant funds for circular democases? Other alternative forms of funding? Formulate a successful project pitch!

A few clear agreements in a row

Cities or municipalities that participate:

  • actively participate in each session (block all agendas in good time);
  • preferably attend each session with a planner, a director and an executor. If circumstances really prevent this, we expect at least 2 out of 3 participants to be present at each session and each participant to have participated in at least 1 session anyway. Collaboration and support within the organisation is crucial to make your project a successful circular (re)construction project;
  • provide time for any "homework" to prepare for the various sessions;
  • commit to setting a valuable example to their citizens and local economy in the field of circular building and renovation. They do so by, among other things, actively communicating on this topic;
  • committing themselves to share the experience gained on circular building and renovation with other local authorities in the province of Antwerp.

Kamp C and the Climate Team

  • offer this course completely free of charge;
  • inform participating municipalities in good time if a session is rescheduled;
  • provide free drinks and lunch at each session;
  • put their expertise and own experience in circular building to full use for the benefit of the participating municipalities;
  • remain available for questions on the further implementation of your project even after the end of the programme;
  • together with the participants, see to what extent they can provide them with tools for communicating with their inhabitants and local economy;
  • look together with the participants at how their experience can inspire other local governments.
