FOSSTER

Over the next three years, the FOSSTER project aims to review, pool and combine the existing guidance and support services provided by the Energy Houses with good practices from other related projects. In this way, we will arrive at a one-stop-shop model for different types of homeowners.

What is FOSSTER

The FOSSTER project runs from the end of 2022 to November 2025 and is part of CINEA's LIFE Clean Energy Transition programme. This department of the European Commission supports projects that contribute to the concrete implementation of the Green Deal programmes and thus work towards a climate-neutral Europe. FOSSTER stands for Flemish One Stop Shop for Energetic Renovation.

Target

FOSSTER will bring together successful existing services of the participating Energy Houses with complementary support in the implementation of renovation works and financial instruments. In this way, Energy Houses can unburden homeowners and significantly reduce the financial, technical and administrative resistance to energy renovation of homes.

Five Energy Houses in Flanders will test the FOSSTER concept as part of their overall service, both in big cities and in rural areas. Once the service and business case have been validated, the concept will be offered to all other Energy Houses in Flanders, by integrating it into the legal framework.

The project will therefore be very concrete and the working model will be shared as much as possible for the widest possible scope. In this way, more and more renovations can be carried out in Flanders (and later beyond) with greater confidence and fewer obstacles (financial and otherwise), which will also result in more profound improvements to the housing stock. This way, we contribute to the objectives of the Green Deal, in which our houses will emit less and less CO² and thus we can think of an energy-neutral future.
