Textile art Liesbet Braeckman
Artist Liesbet Braeckman creates textile art using only recycled fabrics. She transforms leftover materials that would otherwise be discarded into works of art, giving them a new life. She also transforms old, valuable garments into works of art that can be hung up, giving them the attention they deserve.

From residue to artwork
Environmental friendliness and circularity are also often overlooked in the art sector. Artist Liesbet Braeckman wants to change this. She specialises in textile art and works exclusively with fabrics that already have a past. These fabrics are either residual materials that would otherwise be thrown away, or old garments that she transforms into impressive works of art at the request of family or friends.
In her creations, she plays with organic shapes, colours, light, shadow and texture, resulting in striking works of art that attract attention in any space. Liesbet values open communication with her clients, where respect and caring are key.
Work at Kamp C: Textures that speak
This unique wall object consists of several layers of manipulated textiles. The recovered fabrics, coming from a West Flemish curtain workshop and weaving mill and a fashion fabric shop in Brussels, are given a new life here.
The rich textures and volumes, formed with foam remnants from a Mechelen sofa manufacturer, together with the eco-acoustic panel at the back, improve the acoustics in your space.
This combination makes the work not only a visual eye-catcher, but also a valuable addition to your interior.
